Ralph Munoz Arredondo
December 15, 1934 – May 5, 2015
Ralph Munoz Arredondo, 80, of Bryan, went to be with his Lord on May 5, 2015. A time for family to receive friends will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 7 at Hillier Funeral Home, 2301 East 29th Street in Bryan. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM led by Msgr. John McCaffrey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 East 26th Street in Bryan with Father Patrick Ebner. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.
Ralph was born on December 15, 1934 to Martin Arredondo and Guadalupe Munoz Arredondo in Bryan. He worked his entire career for Pennwalt/Elf Atochem, starting as a warehouse stockman. He worked in many positions, working his way to plant manager. After working 40 years with the same company, he retired in 1997.
Ralph has been a member of St. Anthony and St. Joseph Catholic Churches. He had many hobbies like reading and playing dominoes. Ralph kept the grandkids toys and bikes working and enjoyed watching old western movies. Ralph had a green thumb and kept about a third of his yard as a vegetable garden. The rest of his lawn was always well manicured. He enjoyed cooking, especially barbeque; his menudo was reported the best around. Ralph was a real football fan, especially of his Texas A&M Aggies and Dallas Cowboys. While Ralph enjoyed all these things, they pale in comparison to his love for his family and the time spent with them.
He is preceded in death by siblings, Trinidad Arredondo, Sarah Rodriguez, Eleanor Perez, Tony Arredondo, and Laura Garza; daughter, Annie Arredondo; and great-grandson, Jay Corona Arredondo.
Ralph leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Veronica Chavez Arredondo; children, Ralph Arredondo Jr. and wife Charlotte, Martin Arredondo and wife Yolanda, Ruben Arredondo and wife Rosie, Johnny Arredondo and wife Molly, Donna Arredondo, Mario Arredondo and wife Becky, Michael Arredondo and wife Nancy, Lisa Arredondo and partner Richard Soto, and Ivy Arredondo; sister, Josie Vivero and husband Robert; along with 30 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, neighbors and coworkers, as well as friends and fellow church members.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice Brazos Valley (www.hospicebrazosvalley.org).
