Michael Lawrence Fay
October 21, 1949 – June 12, 2015
Michael Fay, 65, of College Station, Texas, passed from this life on June 12, 2015. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
Mike was born on October 21, 1949 to Lawrence Dale Fay and Jean Alberta (Christiansen) Fay in Rogers City, Michigan. He spent his formative years in Dimondale, Michigan and graduated from Holt High School in 1968. Mike graduated from Olivet College with a BA in History. He spent the past 17 years in College Station as a devoted employee of Reynolds & Reynolds.
While not a native Texan, Mike came to love his adopted Texas home. As a life-long Democrat, he became involved in local Democratic politics. Mike was proud to have achieved the status of Eagle Scout and throughout his life he carried with him an appreciation of the outdoors. He loved car travel, especially exploring new areas of the country and taking a break for a hike. Mike enjoyed photography, particularly outdoor scenery and historic sites. Mike was a voracious reader, collector of books, and often traveled to regional book shows and festivals.
He is preceded in death by his father and a nephew, Patrick O’Connor.
Mike leaves behind his mother, Jean Fay; siblings, Christine O’Connor (Tom), Tom Fay (Carrie), Larry Fay (Kimm), and Sally Kimelman (Mike); and several nieces and nephews.
