Mary Ann Spittler
August 14, 1964 – April 9, 2014
Mary Ann (Gorzycki) Spittler, 49, of College Station, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. A time for family to receive friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Hillier Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 6:00p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 East 26th Street in Bryan, with Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Mary Ann was born on August 14, 1964 to Louis and Joanna (Perrone) Gorzycki in Bryan. She graduated from Bryan High School in 1982. Mary Ann worked as an accounting assistant at Asset Plus Company in College Station. The main love of Mary Ann’s life was her family and loved to get everyone involved in silly activities. She was known for her sense of humor and love of life. She spent many hours traveling with her daughters to softball games, recitals, track meets, volleyball games and all of the activities they joined. One of Mary Ann’s proudest moments was welcoming her granddaughter, Kaylee, into the family. Mary Ann had a passion for cooking and the resulting family gatherings.
Serving others was a huge part of her life, especially being a cancer survivor. Mary Ann was an annual supporter of Relay for Life, giving of both her time and money. Mary Ann touched every person that was around her with her strength and perseverance through all trials. She was loved by all of the nursing staff and doctors at Memorial Hermann Hospital because of the love and respect that she shared with them on a daily basis.
She is preceded in death by parents, Louis and Joanna Gorzycki and sister, Joan Gramberg.
Mary Ann leaves behind her husband of 30 years, Randy Spittler of College Station; daughters, Ashley Muzny and husband, Brandon of Katy and Angela Spittler of Katy and granddaughter, Kaylee Muzny. She is also survived by siblings, Patsy McMillen and husband, Danny of Georgetown, Louis Gorzycki and wife, Taja of College Station, Joe Gorzycki and wife, Michelle of College Station and Jackie McNeil and husband, William of Bryan as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
