Ernest Dan Kubin
September 22, 1946 – October 10, 2014
Ernest Dan Kubin, 68, of Bryan, went to be with the Lord, on Friday, October 10, 2014. A time for family to receive friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Hillier Funeral Home, 2301 E. 29th Street in Bryan with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 507 E. 26th Street, Bryan with Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Church Mausoleum.
Ernest was born on September 22, 1946 to Johnnie and Pauline (Novak) Kubin. He grew up in Bryan and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. Ernest worked as a welder though out his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, SPJST, and the Czech Catholic Union of Texas K.J.T. #14. In his spare time, Ernest loved to go fishing and hunting. In 1968, Ernest married Carolyn Valenta and together they raised two children, Brady and Jennifer. One of the most important parts of Ernest’s life was helping his children in the many activities they were involved in as they grew up.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Cynthia Foreman.
Ernest leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Carolyn Kubin; son, Brady Kubin; daughter, Jennifer Ward and husband, Michael; and grandchildren, Blake Ward, Jacob Ward and Dillon Ward all of Bryan. He is also survived by his brother, Johnnie Kubin and wife, Carla of Raymond, WA as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
