Aubrey Eugene Burgess
January 17, 2015 – January 3, 2015
Aubrey Burgess, 65, of Burleson County, went to be with his Lord on January 3, 2015. A time for family to receive friends will be from 12:00 PM Noon to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Hillier Funeral Home, 2301 East 29th Street in Bryan. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00, also at the funeral home.
Aubrey was born on January 17, 1949, to Paul Moore Burgess and Tina Bee (Cole) Burgess in Sweetwater. He graduated from Ingleside High School in Ingleside in 1969 and attended Del Mar College to study welding.
Aubrey was a fan of NASCAR and followed the Earnhardts. He also was involved with the Texas Gulf Coast Tia-Piah Society, was actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America for 20 years, and served as a 4-H leader. Aubrey spent any spare time with various projects and honey-dos.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Tina Bee Burgess.
Aubrey leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Thresa Burgess; sons, Henry Burgess and wife Shirley and Richard Burgess; and grandson, Devin Burgess. He is also survived by siblings, Joanne Burgess of High Point, NC and Donald Burgess of Greensboro, NC; and numerous cousins, extended family, and friends.
