Clara Christine “Chris” Lee November 24, 1929 – January 30, 2015 Chris Lee, 85, of Bryan, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 30, 2015. A time for family to receive friends will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday, February 5 at Hillier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, February 6 at Hillier Funeral Home, 2301 E. 29th St., Bryan, Texas, with Jack Young officiating. A reception will follow at Christ Way Baptist Church, 3885 Copperfield Dr., Bryan, Texas. Chris was born on November 24, 1929 to Troy and Mary (Mann) Fowler in Winfield, Alabama. She owned a beauty shop in Texas City, Chris’ Beauty Salon for many years before moving to Bryan where she retired from Foley’s. She was also an active member of Christ Way Baptist Church and loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. Her passions included gardening and ceramics. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Hershel E. Lee; one son, Glenn “Bubby” Lee; her parents; three brothers, Bud, Bill, and Durrell Fowler; two sisters, Emma Marie Faircloth, and Imogene Dyer; and two grandchildren, baby Lee, and baby McCoy. Chris leaves behind four daughters, Brenda Lee, Glenda “Sissy” Speelman and husband John, Renee Lee, and Stephanie Diane Lee; two brothers, Edell Fowler, and Rondal Fowler; two sisters, Cherry Travelstead, and Barbara Blanchard and husband Johnny; seven grandchildren, Lori George, Elton Fattig, Laura Lee, Amber Maddox, Jennifer Speelman, John Speelman, Jr., and Leah Speelman; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
