Anna Dolores “Lita” Sifuentez
August 25, 1960 – January 14, 2015
Anna “Lita” Sifuentez, 54, of Bryan, went to be with her Lord on January 14, 2015. A Catholic service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Hillier Funeral Home, 2301 East 29th Street in Bryan. The service will be followed by a reception.
Lita was born on August 25, 1960 to Fernando and Leanor (Sanchez) de los Santos in Houston. She graduated from Bryan High School in Bryan in 1977 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Kaplan University in 2008.
Family and friends experienced unquantified smiles and joy by her amazing decorative cakes and spectacular home cooking, including her legendary Two Sisters Salsa. If anyone ever needed a favor, Lita was always among the first to volunteer her services. Lita personified a principle of putting the needs of others above her own, which inspired to proudly serve the men and women of the Brazos Valley as a Deputy Sheriff for over 20 years. Her highest honor in law enforcement came in 2013 when she was sworn in as a Special Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Presidential Inauguration in Washington D.C.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fernando and Leanor (Sanchez) de los Santos; brothers, Fernando “Sonny” and Juan Carlos de los Santos; and son, Gilbert Gabriel Sifuentez.
Lita leaves behind her loving husband of 36 years, Gilbert Sifuentez; son, Gabriel D. Sifuentez and wife Hope; siblings, David de los Santos and wife Denise, Joe de los Santos and wife Pam, Yolanda Myatt and husband Wade. She also leaves behind her nieces, Leah Kirstein , Sierra Robbins and husband Justin, and Sonya Tijerina; and nephews David “Mick” de los Santos, John de los Santos, Jared de los Santos and wife Loren, and Zachary and Joshua Myatt.
