Peter “Petey” Martin Munoz December 28, 1956 – January 15, 2015 Petey Munoz, 58, of College Station, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 15, 2015. A time for family to receive friends will be from 4 – 7 PM on Sunday, January 18 at Hillier Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 5 PM with Monsignor John McCaffrey officiating. Celebration of Life will be held at 10 AM on Monday, January 19 at Bryan Ballroom, 701 Palasota Drive in Bryan with Pastors Will Lewis and Dawson Skow officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Honoring Petey’s wishes, the family requests that all visitors wear casual bright colors or Aggie Tailgate attire for all services. Petey was born on December 28, 1956 to Pete and Janie (Medina) Munoz in Bryan, Texas. He graduated from Bryan High School in 1975 and worked as a food service manager at Lampstand, Callaway House, and also owned Memorial Drive Café in Bryan. Petey NEVER met a stranger! He had an undying faith in God. Pete was a true servant and he never questioned God about all the trials and tribulations he endured. He lived his life to the fullest with no regrets and Pete loved his family and friends more than anything. Petey was the true 12th Man. He loved all the times he cooked for the Aggie Baseball Team, Aggie Soccer Team, and the tailgates, where he fed anybody walking down the sidewalk whether they were Aggies or the opponents. He also enjoyed fishing, gambling, bowling, cruising, baseball, dancing, camping, but especially doing all things with the love of his life, Cheryl. He is preceded in death by his father, Pete Munoz; grandparents, Martin & Agustina Munoz and Aquilio & Viviana Medina. Petey leaves behind his loving wife of almost 23 years, Cheryl; sons, Gabriel and Michael; parents, Ben and Janie Rios; sister, Cynthia Solis and husband Jesse; nephews, Mark and Nicholas Solis; mother-in-law, Sue Loving; sister-in-law, Stacy Durham and husband Mark; nephews, Jared and Kyle Durham; step-siblings, Ben Rios Jr. and wife Ruth; Gloria Medina and husband Rudy; Peggy Rios; Patricia Tello and husband John; and Benita Rios; and numerous great nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, “Brothers”, and “Buddies”. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that balloon bouquets be considered to help brighten the celebration atmosphere of the services. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
